MiX People: James Staniforth
At MiX, we are so proud to work with great people who have delivered some brilliant projects. And as part of our series introducing some of our team, we are featuring one of our Physical Security Technicians, James Staniforth.
What do you do at MiX?
– As a Physical Security Technician, I support the security consultants at MiX who provide guidance and support to organisations. I create detailed reports and drawings to help them create a safe and secure workplace for our clients.
What has been your favourite career project?
– My favourite project to date is the project we completed for the legal firm Skadden Arps in 22 Bishopsgate, as it was one of my first projects. It was a multi-floor demise within a multi-tenanted building, which was a challenge to design as we had to create a single card system that would work with the landlord system.
What do you think are the industry’s key challenges or opportunities at the moment?
– Software and hardware’s rapid and continued development presents challenges and opportunities. As the systems we design become more complex, you can find yourself researching a quickly outdated product! The systems are becoming more efficient tools to complete tasks and more user-orientated, which is excellent.
The other key challenge in the industry at the moment is attracting younger people into the industry. We all need to do our part in promoting the wide range of roles available in the industry.
